I live in an older apartment. For the most part, this has not been an issue. The landlord did replace most of the old windows with new, more efficient and insulating ones. He also took care to make sure we had a new heating system in place before the cold weather hit. I am always experimenting with new breast-feeding positions when I feed my baby. I am trying to find the most comfortable position. I know that if I am comfortable, I am more likely to enjoy nursing, and continue nursing until my baby is at least a year old.

I do not know a lot of people who breastfeed, or have much support. My mother never breast-fed, so she doesn’t have any experience or advice to offer up.

I have found that breastfeeding in the lying down position is my favorite so far. More often than not, I end up falling asleep beside my baby. I especially prefer the lying down position in the afternoon when I am in desperate need of a nap.

My second favorite position is the cross cradle hold. I think I will depend on this hold more and more when my baby gets older, as it is more suited for bigger babies.
